About
A little bit country and a little bit rock ‘n roll.
I’ve spent more than a fair share of time thinking over what I want Cast Iron Maiden to be about. While I initially created the blog to be an outlet for the personal documentation of my cooking, gardening and homesteading, I feel like limiting the content to just those topics could lead to it feeling incomplete and, quite frankly, boring. Since I have plenty of other interests and hobbies (music, DIY, parties, art, politics, beer), it seems that a simple way to keep things fresh would be to incorporate them in with the more traditional homesteading material. My hope is that this mismatch of domesticity and authenticity will make the blog more hip, genuine and maybe even more bad ass than many of the other home oriented blogs out there.
Who’s in the garden?
It’s me, Meggie, a 20-something native Oregonian and wannabe librarian who enjoys nothing more than a day full of friends, food and fun.

Can I just say: I was just planning on starting a blog, thought up “cast iron maiden” all on my own, and saw that you’d already thought of it. The weird things: I am also a little country, a little rock n’ roll, needing a personal outlet for my cooking and gardening, and oh, my name is Megan.
Weird. Fun. We should be friends.
