It seems that Autumn has come early this year. My mom has been lamenting the end of Summer since mid-August. We’ve had a few hot days here and there but the trend has definitely been towards cooler weather. While it’s always sad to say goodbye to those warm and carefree days, Fall has its own rewards. We’re starting to think about sowing leafy greens again and contemplating how we will preserve the harvest this year. Currently a bucket full of cucumbers is fermenting on an out of the way counter and I keep hearing murmurs about homemade sauerkraut.
In other news, I’ve started graduate school to become a librarian so my already sparse updates will probably become even sparser. Oh, the things we give up in order to pursue higher education!
